🛠 How to Safely Remove Non-Removable Fabric Wall Stickers Without Damaging the Wall
While these stickers are designed as non-removable due to their strong adhesive (ensuring durability and secure wall grip), removal is possible with care, though not always without some risk to paint or wall texture. Below are the best-practice steps you can share with the customer to minimise potential wall damage:
🔥 Step 1: Use Gentle Heat to Soften the Adhesive
-
Plug in a hairdryer and set it to a low or medium heat setting.
-
Hold it 5–10 cm away from the edge of the sticker.
-
Warm the edge for about 20–30 seconds, slowly moving it side to side.
-
The adhesive will soften slightly, making the sticker more flexible and easier to peel.
⚠️ Do not use high heat or hold the dryer too close — this can damage the paint or over-dry the sticker, causing tearing.
✋ Step 2: Start Peeling Slowly From the Edge
-
Once the edge is warm, gently lift a corner using your fingernail or a plastic card.
-
Slowly peel back the sticker at a 45-degree angle, continuing to apply heat just ahead of the peeled area.
-
If any resistance is felt, stop, warm it more, then continue.
🧠 Tip: Don’t rush. Peeling too fast is the most common reason for wall paint or surface damage.
🧼 Step 3: Clean Adhesive Residue (If Any)
If there’s any sticky residue left on the wall:
-
Dampen a cloth with warm, soapy water or use a citrus-based adhesive remover (test a small area first).
-
Gently rub the residue in circular motions.
-
Wipe with clean water and let it dry fully before applying the new sticker.
⚠️ Important Disclaimer for the Customer
While we design our fabric stickers to last, they are not intended to be repositioned once applied. Removing them may cause minor paint peeling or wall scuffing, especially on low-quality paint or plasterboard. By following the method above slowly and carefully, most customers are able to remove them with minimal or no damage.
